SUMMARY OF SHOW:
In 1967 Detroit, Motown music is getting the party started, and Chelle and her brother Lank are making ends meet by turning their basement into an after-hours joint. But when a mysterious woman finds her way into their lives, the siblings clash over much more than the family business. As their pent-up feelings erupt, so does their city, and they find themselves caught in the middle of the ’67 riots. Winner! Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History
CHARACTERS/CASTING NEEDS:
Bunny (Bonita): Female, 30s.
Bunny is fun, spunky, sexy, and joyful; she is very much her own woman, enjoys playing with men but is faithful to hers; she is smart as whip, witty, observant but not pushy, and is the go-to woman for information in Detroit. Ethnicity: Black / African Descent
AUDITION PROCEDURES:
Actors should present a headshot and resume, if available. All actors should be prepared to read from the script. Actors may be asked to attend a callback audition at the discretion of the director.
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE LOCATIONS:
Rehearsals and performances will be held at the Pearl Theater located at 14803 Park Almeda Dr. Houston, TX 77047. Any/all known conflicts should be disclosed prior to or at auditions and confirmed at the first read-through. Additional calls for the purposes of costume parade, Publicity photos, and other issues pertaining to production will be scheduled as needed by the Stage Management.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays @ 7-10:00 pm
