THE STORY: On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the
remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above,
Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
ACTING OPPORTUNITIES: Almost, Maine is an ensemble piece featuring nine different couples in various stages of falling in or out of love. We need a minimum of two men and two women, but we can cast as many as 10 men and 9 women. Each vignette contains a different couple. Depending on the number of people cast, it’s possible that not everyone will be called for each rehearsal until tech week, when everyone will be called. The ages of the characters are variable.
NOTE: Some scenes will require
