With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean-flavored score, Once on This Island JR. is a highly original theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s popular fairy tale, The Little Mermaid, and the Tony-nominated Broadway musical by the legendary writing team, Ahrens, and Flaherty.
Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and even death.

We are excited to announce our Take Your Seat Fundraiser Campaign at the Pearl Theater. Back in 2010, with a little more than a few hundred dollars, we purchased our current seating and installed what was to be temporary, rudimentary lighting instruments. While we are proud of the many great accomplishments we have achieved with such humble beginnings, we are constantly seeking ways to fulfill our mission to provide a comfortable atmosphere for patrons and a creative home for artists. With your participation, we will be able to greatly increase the seating comfort of our patrons by installing brand new seating as well as allow our theatre artists more creativity and freedom when designing for productions by expanding our lighting capabilities.
Although in good condition when we purchased them, our current seats had already been used in their previous home for a number of years. Currently, many of our seats are broken, missing pieces, or simply beyond repair. Moreover, our limited lighting grid severely hinders the creative abilities of our directors and designers who strive to deliver the highest production values to our community.
By purchasing one or more seats, you will be able to become a permanent part of our artistic community. When you Take Your Seat, you will have the opportunity to have your name or dedication inscribed on a nameplate and installed on the seat of your choice.
Your donation is fully tax deductible and you will have our never ending gratitude for the support you show to the arts in our community and the Pearl Theater.
Please see our complete brochure available by download here, the Pearl Theater, or contact us to request by mail.
We have several ways to purchase your seat: by mail, on our website, or use our convenient payment plan. Just fill out the following form to get started!
This is a great time to get involved with the Pearl Theater! Thank you!
